Peccish ("we", "us", or "our") is a restaurant decision app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We collect only what we need to make the app work for you.
What we collect
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign in with Google, X, or a magic link.
- Location — the location you enter when searching for restaurants. We do not track your device location in the background.
- Ratings and history — restaurants you've liked (❤) or passed on (✗), and your spin history. This is used to personalize your experience.
- Vote session data — if you participate in a group vote, we store your display name, votes, and any time suggestions you submit.
How we use it
- To provide and improve the app — showing you relevant restaurants, remembering your preferences, and running group votes.
- To personalize your experience — your ratings help us surface places you'll actually want to go.
- For aggregate, anonymous feature improvements — understanding which features are used helps us build a better product. We do not sell or share individual data.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not share your personal information with third parties except as described below.
Third-party services
We use the following services to operate Peccish:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Your account data is stored here.
- Google Places API — restaurant search results. Your search location is sent to Google to retrieve nearby places.
- Vercel — hosting and serving the app.
- Upstash — caching restaurant search results to reduce API calls. No personal data is stored here.
Data retention
Your account and associated data are retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Contact us at privacy@peccish.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Peccish after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
